Portfolio Performance and Data Strategist at 14 West

Full-time Position in Baltimore

We are looking for Portfolio Performance and Data Strategist to be a key member of the Global Portfolio Services team.   This person will manage and provide insights into all data related projects including data migrations and integrations.  Additionally, will review portfolio performance data and provide opportunities for service improvements and insights that will help both our clients and executive stakeholders.  


Account Management

  • Provide Tier2 support for client inquiries related to systems and data integration issues
  • Manage data assets and relationships ensuring we have 100% financial data coverage for our clients
  • Provide solutions for new data opportunities including new efficiencies
  • Work with key individuals to gain a deep understanding of their respective businesses, including their successes, struggles and goals
  • Compile information and collaborate with Product Director to provide analytics insights
  • Know each person’s role within the affiliate and proactively anticipate their questions and concerns
  • Clearly identify and address gaps and needs when it comes to how information is being consumed 


  • Evaluate, ongoing, current solutions to ensure we are always improving
  • Work collaboratively with our Project Manager to gather requirements from users, ensuring the business need and goals for the information requested is always clear
  • Present proposals, mock-ups and findings for ad hoc analyses and data modeling projects
  • Develop tools like “what if” calculators to help users back test recommendations with different strategies along with other financial performance analytics
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance

Report Training

  • Develop and execute customized new user trainings, including materials, resources and documentation
  • Become an expert user of all Portfolio Performance analytics, as well as, the applications used for sourcing all data
  • Work side by side with mid-to-high level report users on how to read and apply the information in reporting

Project Support / Guidance

  • Gather requirements for new data (including migrations and integration) and reporting requests and have a deep understanding of how the client will use the information for marketing and internal performance ratings
  • Create report mock-ups based on the client’s request and requirements that can be translated into technical terms by a business analyst and developer
  • Act as the voice of our affiliates in regards to report and dashboard development so that the tools created meet the needs of our end users
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and input for new dashboards and development efforts
  • Lead demos of new features and tools and maintain a feedback loop for continuous improvement
  • Evaluate reporting UIs to improve user experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data integration and analytics
  • Experience and working knowledge in Global Financial and Investment Markets
  • Must have worked on a daily basis with a suite of reporting tools and data to solve business problems and support decisions
  • Marketing experience a plus
  • Proven ability to apply information strategically, spot larger trends and risks
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to summarize findings clearly and concisely
  • Expert user of MS Excel – logical functions, lookups, pivot tables, external source data, dynamic charts and tables
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities and also work effectively as a team player
  • Self-motivated, proactive, disciplined, fast learner and organized with impeccable attention to detail
  • Experience working in a variety and range of BI solutions and tools
  • Experience working in a consultative user/client facing role
  • Experience with a range of statistical and data mining tools and techniques, market research, predictive modeling and customer segmentation
  • Exposure to data related to Google Analytics, ad networks and other industry related API feeds of data
  • Highly flexible and adaptive to a rapidly changing environment and juggling of competing priorities
  • U.S. citizenship or authorization to work legally in the U.S.
