Sr. Analyst at PayPal

Full-time Position in Lutherville-Timonium

The Sr. Analyst (SA) will be responsible for providing analytical support for Global Risk Ops & Financial Services Workforce Planning on an ongoing basis. The Sr. Analyst’s responsibilities will consist mainly of both innovative and on-going short and long-term forecasting, analysis/tracking of operational and risk-based metrics, head count costs to budget/forecast, and detailed operational impact analysis of new projects, processes, products, and proposals. The SA will further be responsible for other duties assigned by their manager.

1.Prepare key strategic analysis of PayPal’s business to facilitate super fact based decision making

2.Create and validate Forecasts for all Risk and CFSS Departments, compare against data models to catch and correct any anomalies and prevent extreme variances in the monthly headcount requirements

3.Lead and develop projects and analytical analysis

4.Provide Global Risk Ops and CFSS analytics including monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc analysis of key performance metrics and expenses/P&L impact

5.Create and deliver analysis recommendations and findings to the Global Risk Ops & Financial Services Workforce Planning Manager, executive staff, and key stakeholders; must have strong analytical, SQL, as well as presentation skills

6.Review Genesys routing of work (where applicable) to determine most efficient delivery of work to meet service level is employed.

7.Manage and report status on projects and analysis, ensuring timely and accurate completion

8.Gather data points necessary to perform analysis; this position will be supported by database experts, but some data systems competence is expected, specifically SQL and Teradata knowledge

9.Create expert level analysis and modeling of any and all aspects of PayPal Operations’ business operations

10.Recommend new and/or improved Operations policies and practices

11.Identify present and future analytical needs and proactively address them

12.Establish and document analytical processes

13.Share analytical expertise with all Operations Support teams

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in a financial industry; highly prefer MBA

2. Experience

  • Five years of relevant experience within WFM in a financial institution 

  • At least two years of operations and financial analysis experience

  • Five years of SQL, Microstrategy and Teradata


3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to develop reports and analyze information using Excel, Word and Access or other database tools
  • Expert level SQL, Microstrategy and Teradata skills Ability to analyze information and provide feedback and improvement suggestions
  • Ability to make discretionary decisions based on research, with a certain degree of creativity and latitude required
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software technologies Ability to communicate effectively via written and verbal communication skills
